C: "Ok Missy! It's time to pick up your sister.  Let's hit the road!"

Little Miss: "...You say what?! Les do WHAT mama?!"

C: "Let's hit the road.  Let's go."  

Little Miss: "Oh! But MAma! We hit the road, it can cry sometimes!  Hitting not nice mama.  That can hurt feewings."

C: "Oh, no I...it's just an expression, Miss.  It means let's get going, let's get on the road to go."

Miss: "Poor road.  Ok, how 'bout this, how 'bout we on-y hit it, jus' a little bit.  'Bout that deal, mama?"
