There were some really unruly twins on the playground. One snatched Little One's doll from me and played with it awhile. When she dropped it, I picked it up. Unruly came over and without a word, tried to yank it from my hands. She was shocked when I did not let go. I told her she was welcome to ask Little One if she could play with it. She yanked harder. I said no. She threw a screaming, crying, kicking fit. Later, I watched her pick up a handful of dirt, and throw it in her grandmothers face.
So I watched, without intervening but with some trepidation, as she noticed Little One using an evergreen branch as a pretend broom, and charged over to Her. As I had guessed, she ripped the branch right out of Little One's hands and started sweeping. Uh oh. What would Little One do? Would She cry? Fight back? Say something?
She stood there stunned for a sec. Watched the girl sweeping with Her branch. Then She turned to me. And with a big grin, all excited, She cried, "look! I can share! Yay!"
Some days She picks Her nose. Some days She gets three time-outs. But some days, are like this.
I will never forget the timeout you gave her at the mall in forever 21 :))
