He could elect to spend some extra time in the ICU, for example, or in cardiology perhaps. Lucky for me, he 'elected' to stay home. Woo hoo!
I'm not going to lie. We are losers a little bit, and spent a lot of that time doing chores and projects around the house. But J did get to do some fun things with friends, I had some time to myself, and we had some good family fun too.
One Thursday, for example, we had a great day in the city.

The weather was rainy in the morning, and gorgeous with a nice breeze in the afternoon, just perfect for us. And lucky for us, the tornadoes that hit Maryland that day missed us by miles.
It was nice just being together all day, and Little One in particular just had a blast.
At the "mews-wee-um" we got to see the original star-spangled banner, a really cool exhibit on transportation with actual trains, busses, boats, and cars, and a visiting exhibit about Abraham Lincoln.
Little One entertained Herself by trying to pick out which of the pictures on each wall was "Ween-kin". The mole was kind of a giveaway.
Although She really doesn't understand yet who Abe Lincoln is, She surprised us by informing us that She does have the inside scoop on another member of that presidential family.
Little One: "and Mamma, who that?"
C: "That's his wife, Mary Lincoln."
LO: "Mary?"
C: "Yes, Mary Lincoln."
LO: "OH! Mommy, I know her!"
C: "You do?"
LO: "Oh! Yes! I know this girl! This MARY! Have a little lamb."
