Amen

Yep, Little One is all about fairness. She figures, if the church pours water on Her, She can sprinkle some water on the church. She's a giver. The whole ceremony wasn't drowned out by Little One's gospel renditions; She took a few moments of silence, and even worked in the occasional smile.
Her mood really improved though when we got to the after party and She was reunited with Her BFF. She was like, "Girl, you would not believe the day I have had. Look at this cute dress I got though- I know right?!" There was lots more giggling and hand holding.

BFF cheered Little One up so much that She enjoyed the rest of the party and even recruited a few more fans, many of which evaded the paparazzi I'm afraid. Little One, being the VIP, couldn't escape the flashbulbs. So She figured She might as well get a little modely. She strutted the red carpet in a dress by Grandma L, Mommom shoes, and jewelry by Godmother P. Very chic. It all went very nicely with the spiffed-up soul and glow of eternal blessedness.

As for the entourage, (that would be J and me) we thought it was nice to be surrounded by family and a part of so much history. And as much as the day was about bringing Her into our faith, it was also a celebration of the first of many little ceremonies that will mark the milestones in Her life, and in our collective life as a family. Like I said, Little One is all about reciprocity. We helped arrange this little blessing for Her, and She sees to it that we're plenty blessed, too.
