One of the little girls at the AFC children's home in Ethiopia has faced not only the challenges of being HIV positive and losing both of her parents, but she is also deaf. AFC has done an amazing job of helping her learn to cope with this disability and providing her support, but it remains a difficult challenge.
Now, there is a possibility that she may not have to live with hearing impairment for the rest of her life. It may be possible for Mekdes to regain her hearing through surgery and treatment! This care has been pledged by a generous hospital, and the possibility of Mekdes being able to hear again is close to becoming a reality.
All that is needed is the funds for this small non-profit to get Mekdes and her gaurdian from Addis Ababa to the US. Thats it! Only two plane tickets stand in the way of changing one little girl's life forever.
If you would like to help by donating any amount of money, or if you have a frequent-flier ticket you could donate instead, please contact Abezash at abezash.tamerat@gmail.com. The sooner we can get her here, the soon she can be treated!
